EYS, which is specialized in dewatering and decomposting systems is located in Aydın, Turkey. Exporting majority of its production, EYS is the preferred partner of progressive farmers around the world. For its new manufacturing facility and office headquarters in the new industrial zone in Tepecik, Aydın, the company with its industry leading solutions for a sustainable farm operations has requested an exemplary building in its sustainability and performance as well. DerinYesil Architects and Consultants has designed a master plan for the new site which features manufacturing facilities to be built in three phases with an optimum footprint, allowing one third of the site to be planted as an olive grove. The 10,000 m2 manufacturing area is located on the south with clerestory windows for controlled dayligthting. The office blocks have been designed along the north facade with taking advantage of optimal daylighting opputunities and grand views of the pond in the foreground as well as the mountains in the distance. In addition to the comrehensive site and architectural planning, sustainability has been a crucial element in decisions regarding all exterior and interior materials, fixtures and systems in the building. The project has been in the process of LEED certification.
